My Health and Ayurveda
I've been teaching Ayurveda in classrooms and workshops for the past 15 years. What I'm working on is a series of nine concise, in depth books that help people quickly move forward. The first book, Book 1, Why We Age and What We Can Do About It, (the first 10 chapters of TneAging Reversal Course) is really all one needs to make huge life changes. The other eight books are in depth icing on the cake.
The Rebuild Series
The Rebuild, Book 1: Why We Age and What We Can Do About It.
The Rebuild, Book 2: Re-enlivening the Body's Intelligence
The Rebuild, Book 3: High Energy Breathing
The Rebuild, Book 4: High Energy Hydration
The Rebuild, Book 5: High Energy Eats
The Rebuild, Book 6: High Energy Rest & Activity
The Rebuild, Book 7: Managing Samadhi
The Rebuild, Book 8: Karma: Demystifying Superstition
The Rebuild, Book 9: The First Church of Human Physiology. (Includes the three Act Play Lilly Bee's Church.)
Synopsis
The Rebuild, Book 1: Why We Age and What We Can Do About It.
The body is constantly rebuilding itself. It performs trillions of functions per second. On average, one hundred thousand cells are replaced each second. The body is constantly rebuilt anew. We, as owners, do best when we assume the role of giving the body what it needs - rather than as micro managers.
True vitality results from us doing two things:
2) The Rebuild, Book 2: Re-enlivening the Body's Intelligence
Every traumatic experience, if not dealt with, is registered in physiology as a physical 'bit' or impediment: think plaque in the arteries; arthritis in the joints; stones in the kidneys. Think of the micro-channels – in the cells for example - clogged with infinitesimally small 'bits' of the residue of traumatic experiences. There is no storage space in the body for these 'bits' and once lodged these 'bits' plug up the flow of the intelligence, causing aging, disease and death. The body expends great amounts of energy to clean and release these bits. If not released they damage our 'instruction manual' of how to accurately rebuild. The focus of The Rebuild, Book 2 expands the practices of Book 1: how to clear the sub-doshas, the mahabuhutas, the marmas and channels in order that intelligence is reenlivened and rebuilding is accurate. There is little profit in reading Book 2 unless a good portion of the protocols of Book 1 have been incorporated into daily living.
The High Energy Books
The Rebuild, Book 3: High Energy Breathing
The Rebuild, Book 4: High Energy Hydration
The Rebuild, Book 5: High Energy Eats
The Rebuild, Book 6: High Energy Rest & Activity
Fatigue seems everywhere. Exhaustion seems the new normal. The usual remedy is to deal with one area of life – usually food - yet the key to a settled, high energy life is to optimize each of these four areas of life. If breathing is not natural the other areas suffer. If hydration is lacking the other areas suffer – and so on. Does it cost anything to fix breathing? Does it take any more time? Is it strenuous? No. It is simple, easy, enjoyable, and without cost.
As breathing, hydration, digestion and rest begin to function closer and closer to their optimum, fatigue and exhaustion are replaced with high energy.
7) The Rebuild, Book 7: Managing Samadhi
The body wants the best. It is constantly seeking Samadhi. Our purpose is to be happy and to innocently culture the physiology to be in the moment, and 'slip into' Samadhi experiences – and ultimately become established Samadhi. Includes the story The Church of the Holy Watermelon.
8) The Rebuild, Book 8: Karma
The usual understanding of Karma is mired in the dark ages drivel. How can we move forward without straightening out the abysmal mountain of destructive thinking regarding Karma?
9) The Rebuild, Book 9: The First Church of Human Physiology. (Includes the 3 Act Play Lilly Bee's Church.)
It is difficult to imagine how our current enslavement to materialism could possibly end well – for us or the planet. (This statement is not to be interpreted as a knock against sensuality and living well. See Book 2, Chapter 3: The Purpose of Sensuality.)
Enslavement to materialism is the nearly all pervasive notion that 'the big gulp,' or a genetically modified super sweet, or some other assault on physiology is going to lift us to level of bliss that will put our neighbors to shame. The root of many of our health problems is our enslavement to this nonsense.
First Church of Human Physiology proposes a morality based on Life supporting, evolutionary living that is in sync with the Laws of Nature. Living in sync with Natural Law results in energy and bliss; living out of sync with Nature Law leads to sickness, suffering and an early death.
In the Church of Human Physiology there is no need for clergy. Individuals, once they understand the neurology and physiology their body is seeking, are easily able to determine Life supporting action. On this path we begin to notice that when we contravene Natural Law – the bag of chips, the box of chocolates, a snort of cocaine – we feel bad and bliss is overshadowed. Because of this 'gentle tap' (we feel bad) people spontaneously begin to act in a manner that supports Life - or the taps become more severe. On the other side of the coin we come to embrace action that result in bliss and support Samadhi experiences.
There is no need to terrify people with a pretend Hell. Hell is rampant on earth. Have a look in any medical walk-in clinic. Blaming genetics, or the stars, is simply nonsense. Health – to a large degree - is the result of choices. The Rebuild series presents Life supporting choices. The Church is a fun finish to The Rebuild Series.
